In this e-book (PDF) Inge looks at the basic natural behaviour of dogs and how stifling natural behaviours and instincts can lead to behavioural problems. She explores the way in which a lack of communication and understanding can form a basis for behavioural problems. She talks about the most commonly encountered problems and shares experiences from case histories.
She also explains how to prevent or solve unwanted behaviour. Behavioural problems and unwanted behaviour are two different issues. A dog that barks to protect its territory (your back garden for example), does not have a behavioural problem, this is the natural instinctive behaviour of a normal dog. However in real life this can be a nuisance for owners and neighbours and the owners will want to stop their dog from barking.
In this book Inge delves deeper into the origins of this behaviour: how to recognise behavioural patterns, the relationship between the dog and owner, between the dog and its surroundings, genetic causes, bad behaviour and possible solutions based on theoretical studies and actual case histories.
She also looks at body language, behavioural testing and the work done with therapy animals. And she adds her holistic approach to it all.
